“INSPECTION_ presents a Computed Tomography (CT) scan of my brain as the central subject of the artwork. Here, it is extracted from its institutional function and repositioned as an object for public scrutiny, a gesture that resembles intimate intrusion. INSPECTION_ ultimately aims to collapse the boundaries between the observer and examiner. It questions whether technology truly reveals the human condition, or merely produces new surfaces onto which fear, grief, insecurities and identity are projected.”

A Malaysian radiologist who makes surreal photographs by night. Twelve years of medical training built the clinical eye — his 2026 INSPECTION_ series offers his own CT brain scan as the subject, asking whether imaging reveals the human or only new surfaces for projection. The practice spans photography, collage and illustration across Raster, Verse, Transient Labs, and OpenSea; 339K Instagram followers precede the on-chain work.

The doctor-artist's self-examination

I'm Ronald — a digital artist and also a full-time junior doctor, currently practicing radiology. My artistic process involves photography, collage techniques, and illustration.

Drawing inspiration from my daily practice as a radiology medical officer, it examines the uneasy relationship between medicine and personhood. It emerges from a recurring thought: what went wrong inside my head? The installation behaves as an archive, confession and evidence.
